OKAY! Finally something to blog about. Went for "Ice cream making with liquid nitrogen" workshop on 1 Feb (Thurs)with Rahman, Alvin and Sammy. All the coral peeps. haha.. It was after PE and ice cream after PE is certainly something worth looking forward to. lol. We went thru some theory thingies about liquid nitrogen and some demonstration. Liquid Nitrogen has a MP of 200 degree celcius. The teacher in charge put a banana, eraser and a leaf off a cabbage into a tub of nitrogen(l) as a demonstration. Those stuff came out to be SUPER HARD!! The banana could actually hammer a nail into a piece of wood!! O.o! No volunteers to try putting their hand into the tub. haha..


Ingredients needed: Cream, full cream milk, vanilla essence and chocolate chip toppings. Not forgetting Liquid Nitrogen


After mixing the all the ingredients together, we started to divide the mixture into 4 cups. Then added some more vanilla essence cos i suggested it wasnt enough. No smell one.


That's the teacher pouring the liquid nitrogen into the mixture. Then we have to stir the mixture.

Scooping the ice cream up while it was still hard. Looks like dunno what right.


The whole piece of ice cream that has became soft enough to be scooped up as a whole. The brown stuff at the top are chocolate chip.

Right. So what was nitrogen's role in ice cream making?? It was to freeze the solution by taking in the heat of the mixture. The liquid nitrogen will then vapourise bringing away the heat. I was stirring my cup with the vapour caressing over me. ITS SUPER COOLING!! like air con like that. =D see the vapour while stirring.



ok tts all for the nitrogen ice cream. We ate it eventually. Nice and sweet tasting
